Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor made a strong statement on Wednesday about a looming comeback fight announcement.

It’s been almost five full years since Conor McGregor appeared inside the UFC Octagon. Just minutes into his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, McGregor suffered a serious leg injury that put his career in serious doubt.

McGregor was then supposed to return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303, before withdrawing due to a toe injury suffered in camp. Two years after the UFC 303 cancellation, McGregor appears serious about returning to the Octagon following his lengthy hiatus.

After Chandler was recently booked for the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 card, McGregor’s comeback opponent remains a mystery. Former BMF titleholder Max Holloway, who lost to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 earlier this month, has been linked to rumors surrounding McGregor’s next fight.

In addition to the Holloway rumors, it’s been reported by several MMA outlets that McGregor is a ‘likely’ option for the UFC’s International Fight Week event this summer.

In a recent Instagram post, McGregor seemed to confirm recent rumors surrounding a potential comeback at the UFC’s International Fight Week event in July.

“The rumours are true! Mr. Confidence returns to save fighting again! Call your grandma! Nanny we did it! Watch and pay me. F— you pay me. You fat Irish prick you don’t have my money I put your brain to sleep,” McGregor began.

“See ya’s in the Casinos after, the Mac loves yas all, I got love for yas all it’s an honor it’s light work it’s easy. FOR LIFE AND ETERNITY ITS MCGREGOR! BIG MONEY MAC DADDY MCGREGOR I EXPECT FAWNING OF THE HIGHEST FOR LIFE. I DO THIS FIGHT GAME EASY PEEZY. THE SOUND OF MY SHOTS OFF THE HEAD GO “BING” in green dot laser form. Go BHB!

As of this writing, the UFC hasn’t announced a fight for McGregor’s anticipated return to the Octagon. He’s searching for his first win since knocking out Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.
