Toronto police have released images of a suspect in a random assault on a TTC streetcar downtown last week that left one person with serious injuries.

Police said a call came in for an assault near Spadina Avenue and College Street on the evening of March 16.

Officers learned that an unknown man allegedly punched another person in the face randomly on the streetcar and then kicked him, causing him to fall out of the open door and onto the transit stop median.

The suspect ran away soon after while the victim had to be taken to the hospital, police said.

The suspect is described as a man who is about five-foot-10 to six feet tall with a medium build and facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a grey or black scarf, a green hooded jacket, a grey toque with a black stripe, brown boots with black soles, blue jeans, a grey hoodie and a black backpack.

Police said they are concerned there may be more victims.
