Dhurandhar The Revenge, produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, refuses to slow down. After a historic extended weekend, the film went on to collect more than Rs. 50 crores on Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24. The first part, Dhurandhar (2025), collected a huge Rs. 895.96 crores. Earlier, the expectation was that the sequel would cross the Rs. 1000 crore mark. But the way the Ranveer Singh-starrer is simply unstoppable at the box office, the question that arises is – Can it earn Rs. 1500 crores at the domestic market in its lifetime?

Forget Rs. 1000 crores, trade experts feel that Dhurandhar The Revenge can earn Rs. 1500 cr in its lifetime in domestic market: "Part 1 had created a tsunami at the box office. Dhurandhar The Revenge is a tsunami times two!"

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “Yes, I think so. With this film, you never know. I even told this to the producers, ‘With all due respect, aap logon ko bhi nahin pata hoga kitna karegi’! Part 1 had created a tsunami at the box office. Dhurandhar The Revenge is a tsunami times two! It is doing unthinkable business. Even internationally, the film is unstoppable. A lot of people speculated that due to the war and the resulting tensions across the world, the film’s overseas business would be affected. But look at the numbers; it is breaking all records.”

Actor-producer Viveck Vaswani explained, “That’s a component of the number of shows and screens that they have taken. It’s a long film. They can’t play more than 3 or 4 shows. Hence, they are having shows early in the morning and late at night.”

He added, “The period from Thursday to Sunday was full of bank holidays. People didn’t have issues watching films at odd hours like early morning or late night because the next day was a holiday. The actual test of the final figure happened on Monday. They managed to cover half of Sunday, that is, Rs. 50-60 crores. So now, it has a strong chance of doing Rs. 1000 crores plus. If it would have earned less than Rs. 40 crores, the film would have still scraped through but it would have taken them many weeks. The film would have hit singles instead of sixers, though it would have still collected Rs. 1000 crores, considering it had already earned Rs. 400 crores in 4 ½ days.”

Satadeep Saha, CEO of SSR Cinemas Pvt Ltd, confirmed, “The way the film refuses to die down, I won’t be surprised if it collects Rs. 1500 crores. Anything can happen with this film. Nothing is impossible. The Monday drop was minimal in Bengal and it has held very strongly.”

Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal simply said, “As per the current trend of 4 days, this will be the biggest grosser of Hindi cinema.”

Taran Adarsh revealed that the film is a talking point everywhere, “I met some people while I had gone for a walk. Generally, people discuss a lot of current issues. But at present, everyone is talking about Dhurandhar! This has happened for the first time. I am sure this hype is not going to die down soon. If the film refuses to die down after such a huge weekend and despite expensive rates, it shows that people have taken to the film in a very big way. This is very good news for the industry. It brings back confidence and recharges the whole system.”

Raj Bansal confessed, “The film collected Rs. 2 crores in Jaipur alone on Sunday. This is unheard of. In my theatre, the film collected Rs. 27 lakhs. It’s a record for a theatre in Rajasthan to earn so much in just one day. Had the film been shorter and if we could have accommodated more shows, the film could have perhaps earned Rs. 30-32 lakhs.”

He continued, “The craze for Dhurandhar 2 is not going to die down so soon. My daughter saw the film yesterday in Hong Kong. She informed me that people don’t usually go for very late-night shows in that city. However, her Dhurandhar 2 show, which got over at 2:30 am, was sold out. She also told me that during the ‘Tamma Tamma’ scene, there was a frenzy in cinemas. Also, despite the violence, 70% of the audience comprised women.”

Viveck Vaswani opined, “The figures are very good as the film has become a craze. It’s a good film. It could have been a little shorter though, that too, without sacrificing anything. Nevertheless, it’s an astounding feat for a director.”

Raj Bansal commented, “The way Aditya Dhar has handled the film’s casting, music, story, and screenplay shows that he knows his job too well. Now, he would be under tremendous pressure to finalize what his next film should be.”
