Montreal Canadiens forward Alexandre Texier is not in the lineup Thursday evening against the Columbus Blue Jackets because of a lower-body injury.

Texier is considered day-to-day according to TSN’s Kenzie Lalonde. Forward Joe Veleno took his spot in the lineup.

Texier played 13:54 in Montreal’s 5-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, recording two hits in 16 shifts.

The 26-year-old has eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 38 games since joining the Habs in November. He began the season with the St. Louis Blues but was released on Nov. 22. In total, Texier has eight goals and 20 points in 46 games during the 2025-26 season.

A native of St. Martin D’heres, France, Texier is a veteran of seven NHL seasons, spending five of them with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
