The emergency department will close for 24 hours starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow
There will be a 24-hour closure of the emergency department in Thessalon this week due to physician shortages.
The North Shore Health Network says the emergency room will shut down at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 27. It’s not scheduled to reopen until 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 28.
A nurse practitioner will be available at the site from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should still call 9-1-1. Ambulances will be re-routed.
