Rocco Zakutney was named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the league in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday morning. Zakutney helped MSU to a fifth place finish at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate and led the Racers with a ninth place finish individually after shooting a two under in the final round on Tuesday.
He finished with a three-round 71-73-70=214 and was the highest finisher for MVC participants (Bradley was also in the event). The Racers finished the tournament with a 298-284-290=872 as a team.
The award marks Zakutney’s first MVC Golfer of the Week award in his career as the ninth place finish was the best of his collegiate career. This is the fourth MVC Golfer of the Week award for Murray State in the 2025-26 season.
