American lawmakers are demanding answers from the Trump administration after a Canadian man says U.S. customs officers held him for three hours and forced him to provide a DNA sample before sending him home. Following the publication of this story, a spokesperson for CBP provided a written statement that said a Canadian citizen was “deemed inadmissible and allowed to withdraw his application for admission, and allowed to voluntarily depart the U.S. A DNA sample was collected in accordance with the law – DNA Fingerprint Act of 2005 – due to this immigration violation.” The CBC’s Emma Loop reports.
