The NASCAR Cup Series begins the Watkins Glen race weekend with practice and qualifying on Aug. 9 for the Go Bowling at The Glen.

Shane van Gisbergen will be the presumed favorite at every road course race until proven otherwise, though he did miss out on a win here last year with a late-race pass by Chris Buescher.

Connor Zilisch will race in a fourth Trackhouse entry this weekend, but with three Cup races under his belt, can the 19-year-old test his Xfinity Series road course rival?

Three races remain in the Cup Series regular season, with Buescher and Ryan Preece in a battle for the final playoff spot barring a new winner.
