YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cleveland State women’s tennis team opened up its Horizon League slate Saturday, dropping a 4-3 contest at Youngstown State.
Cleveland State’s three points on the day came in singles, picking up wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
Ella Franz earned a 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 victory at the top of the lineup, while Jenna Redmile picked up a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win at the No. 4 spot and Laura Tapia earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.
The win for Franz marked her team-leading eighth singles victory of the spring, while Tapia now has seven singles wins during dual match play.
The Vikings will continue their #HLTennis slate next weekend, traveling to Milwaukee on Saturday, April 4.
