A man has been arrested in relation to the fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old man earlier this week, said Toronto police.
Officers responded around 9:34 p.m. on March 25 near Gamble Avenue and Donlands Avenue for an altercation that was heard behind a building, said Toronto police in a news release Saturday.
Once police arrived, they found a 27-year-old man “with stab wound and without vital signs.”
The man was pronounced dead and identified as Ahmed Hassan Asif. Police said Asif was Toronto’s fifth homicide victim of 2026.
They said the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
A 21-year-old man was arrested Saturday and faces two charges of second-degree murder and robbery. He is expected to appear in court Sunday morning.
