Ottawa Senators

Defenceman Jake Sanderson will miss Tuesday’s contest against the Florida Panthers as he continues to work his way back from an upper-body injury.

Sanderson was originally injured on March 7 against the Seattle Kraken and was given a timeline of week-to-week.

Per Postmedia’s Bruce Garrioch, Sanderson, who has has been skating with the team, has yet to be cleared for contact.

The 23-year-old has missed 11 straight games as the Senators are currently two points back of the Columbus Blue Jackets for the last wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

He has 11 goals and 48 points in 62 games this season while averaging 24:49 of ice time.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Forward Bo Groulx has been recalled from the AHL’s Marlies on an emergency basis ahead of tonight’s contest against the Anaheim Ducks.

Groulx was recently sent down by the Maple Leafs after scoring three goals with five points in a nine-game stint.

With the Marlies this season, Groulx has 27 goals and 50 points in 55 games this season.

The 26-year-old was a second-round pick (54th overall) by Anaheim in 2018. He played in 65 NHL games over four seasons with the Ducks organization.

He spent the 2024-25 season with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack.

Philadelphia Flyers

Prospect forward Porter Martone is on the ice wearing No. 94 as he skates for the first time with the Flyers after signing his three-year, entry-level contract on Sunday.

Martone recently wrapped up his first and only NCAA season, where he scored 25 goals with 50 points in 35 games with Michigan State.

He also captained Canada to bronze at the World Juniors, scoring six goals with nine points in seven games.

The 19-year-old was drafted sixth overall by Philadelphia in the 2025 draft.

Philadelphia is currently two points back of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference and have won three straight games. They are back in action Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals.

New York Islanders

Goaltender Ilya Sorokin was in the starter’s crease at today’s morning skate and is the projected starter tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Islanders are currently second in the Metropolitan Division with 89 points while Penguins are one point behind with 88.

Sorokin is 28-18-2 with a .914 save percentage and 2.47 goals-against average. He is coming off 19-save performance against the Florida on Saturday in a 5-2 win.
