Tuesday dawned under grey skies spitting out rain and freezing rain as March made an attempt to go out like the proverbial lion. It did, if you’ll remember, come in like a lamb, albeit a lamb shivering through a deep freeze.
A special weather statement issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada notes that although up to five millimetres is freezing rain is expected Tuesday evening and overnight, “impacts could be limited given that the temperatures will be close to freezing.”
It gives a similarly cool shoulder to freezing rain in the morning as Montreal edges toward a high of plus-3 C.
A series of yellow warnings for freezing rain were issued for a strip north of Montreal that includes the Laurentians and Lanaudière, and east as far as the New Brunswick border.
