Two men were wounded Monday evening in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough in an attack with a sharp object.
The incident took place at a licensed establishment in Ville-Émard, on Monk Blvd., near Springland St., Montreal police spokesperson Johany Charland said. Police were alerted to the presence of a man “possibly armed with a knife” around 11:10 p.m.
A 49-year-old man had injuries to his upper and lower body, while the other victim, a 31-year-old man, had lower-body injuries.
Both were transported to hospital, where their injuries were declared non-life threatening.
Police believe that “a conflict broke out between the 49-year-old victim and the suspect,” Charland said. “The suspect allegedly injured him with a possible sharp object.”
The suspect seems to have injured the 31-year-old man after he attempted to intervene, Charland said.
The suspect fled before police arrived, she said.
Police have yet to identify the suspect and have made no arrests. An investigation is ongoing.
