A teenage boy has been charged after a violent incident at a home in northeast Calgary that left a woman in life-threatening condition.

Emergency crews were called to a home in the northeast community of Pineridge around 7 p.m. Sunday, following reports of a fight.

Officers arrived to find a woman in her 50s injured. She was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested at the scene.

He is now charged with assault and mischief to property under $5,000. His identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police say the incident is domestic in nature and no further details will be released.
