Memorial University’s Students’ Union is going to give us an update on the fate of the campus radio station – CHMR.
A meeting is taking place this evening to discuss the possibility of cutting funding to the station which has been on the air for the last 50 years.
Talks of shutting down the radio station has been met with criticism from some students and the public – most notably those in the media who cut their teeth in the industry by volunteering at the station.
MUNSU has cited financial concerns as the reason why it’s considering pulling funding for CHMR.
The union will provide an update tomorrow at 11:50 at the Loft.
