TBR Football can exclusively confirm that Manchester United are open to replacing Andre Onana this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma a potential replacement.

PSG sources have confirmed to TBR Football that they have told Gianluigi Donnarumma he is no longer the club’s number one following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier.

Donnarumma is out of contract next summer and – as we previously revealed – he has turned down numerous offers of a new deal.

This has seen PSG decide to bring in Chevalier and move on from Donnarumma, who is firmly on Manchester United’s radar.

The Italian could yet stay as number two, but PSG want him to move and now Donnarumma’s camp and intermediaries are working hard on options.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands there is interest from both Manchester United and Manchester City, but Chelsea have also been approached.

Turkish giants Galatasaray have also held talks whilst the likes of Bayern Munich and Inter Milan have been contacted.

It is believed PSG would accept around £40million or even less, in order not to lose him for nothing.

However, the main issue for suitors is the player’s salary, as Donnarumma would want significant wages – in excess of £250,000-a-week.

TBR Football can confirm that Man United do have an active interest in upgrading their number one Andre Onana – hence the talks with Donnarumma and Emiliano Martinez.

We are told that Man United would consider allowing Onana to leave on a loan deal should they find a new number one between the sticks.

“Manchester United are open to making changes in their goalkeeping department and Onana is aware,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“There is a chance to bring in a Donnarumma or Martinez, one of the best keepers in the world, and United are tempted.

“However, understandably there is a lot of interest in Donnarumma – him being available is something more than just United think is a great opportunity.”

Donnarumma is a player who many have described as the best goalkeeper in the world.

AC Milan icon Alessandro Costacurta recently said of Donnarumma’s critics, as per Football Italia: “They say he isn’t the best when he has to come off his line, but they always forget to mention that he’s the best in the world at everything else!”

Manchester United’s impressive transfer window so far

Man United hit the ground running in the transfer market with the £62.5million arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers in early June.

Fans had to wait a while before the next new arrival, with Bryan Mbeumo joining in a £71million move from Brentford on the penultimate weekend in July.

Now, Man United have completed a hat-trick of attacking signings by announcing the £73.7million arrival of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

The Red Devils have had an impressive transfer window so far, and adding Donnarumma as well would really go a long way towards giving fans hope of success this season.
