They decided to part ways with former head coach Mike Budenholzer, bringing in Jordan Ott to be the next head coach of the franchise.

They also made some big changes to the core of their team, buying out the contract of Bradley Beal and trading away superstar player Kevin Durant.
Recently, another move was made, this time on the coaching staff side.
Suns make new addition to coaching staff
NBA writer Michael Scotto reported, “The Phoenix Suns will add Mike Muscala as an assistant coach, sources told @hoopshype.”
Muscala will return to the NBA, coaching for the first time at age 34.
His last stint as a player was with the Thunder back in the 2023-24 NBA season, as he retired after that season concluded.

Scotto mentioned that Muscala worked with new Suns’ head coach Jordan Ott during both of their time with the Hawks, which strengthened their connection and ultimately helped Muscala get his first job on a coaching staff in the NBA.
Muscala played 11 years in the league, playing for the Hawks, 76ers, Lakers, Thunder, Celtics, Wizards and Pistons.
We’ve slowly seen players from Muscala’s time in the league join coaching staffs in the past few years, such as Jared Dudley, Kemba Walker, Corey Brewer and several others.
Muscala was the 44th overall pick back in the 2013 NBA Draft.
In 548 career games played, he averaged 5.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.5 blocks.
