Brampton residents can again hop on an E-scooter to get around town.
The city today (April 1) launched the fourth season of its shared E-scooter pilot program that is meant to give residents and visitors a sustainable way to get around while helping reduce car use, ease congestion, and support local tourism.
This year, to reduce sidewalk obstructions, improve accessibility and enhance safety for all road users, a city-wide designated parking model has been introduced. Riders must start and end trips in designated parking areas shown in each operator’s app.
E-scooters can be used on roads with speed limits of 50 km/h or less, bike lanes and multi-use paths, but are not permitted on sidewalks. E-scooters are designed so that their speeds are limited to a maximum of 20 km/h, except in high-pedestrian areas where their maximum speed is reduced to 15 km/h.
Introduced in 2023, the E-scooter program aims to expand sustainable travel options and supports Brampton’s vision of a more connected, environmentally friendly city.
“The pilot demonstrates how the city can support greener, healthier and safer ways for the community to travel locally,” according to information supplied by the city.
Some facts from the 2025 program show there were 32,141 users who made 96,500 trips and that an estimated greenhouse gas savings of 4 to 6 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent was achieved.
