Non-profit hosts resumé workshops for Indigenous people in Surrey, Vancouver

A local non-profit is hosting a resumé workshop to help Indigenous people in Surrey and Vancouver prepare their resumés for job searches and an upcoming career fair.

Aboriginal Community Career Employment Services (ACCESS) is hosting the workshop at its Surrey location (10708 136 St.) on April 9 and its Vancouver location (110 1607 East Hastings St.) on April 8.

Attendees will be able to create or update their resumé and print it in preparation for the upcoming career fair.

Access’s second annual Workin’ It 2 Indigenous Career Fair will be on April 17 from noon to 4 p.m. in Vancouver at the Westin Bayshore (1601 Bayshore Dr.) in the ballroom. An honouring dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.

There will be over 40 local employers from various sectors, including BC Emergency Health Services, Canada Post, CIBC, PCL Construction, EB Horsman, and Seaspan.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring their resumés.
