With anticipation building ahead of the 2026 Masters at Augusta National Golf Club, fresh data has revealed just how expensive it is to stay in the area during golf’s most iconic week — and the numbers are staggering.
Research conducted by Rotogrinders analysed more than 1,000 accommodation listings across Augusta, Georgia, as well as surrounding areas on Booking.com and Airbnb.Â
The findings outlined below show dramatic price hikes during Masters week compared to both the week before and after.
The 2026 Masters runs from Thursday 9 April to Sunday 12 April, so the analysis has taken into consideration a five-night stay from 8–13 April to cover arrival before the opening round and departure after the final day.

Why is Augusta so expensive?
Unlike major cities built for tourism, Augusta has relatively limited accommodation infrastructure.Â
When tens of thousands of golf fans descend on the city for The Masters, supply simply can’t keep up with demand — and prices surge accordingly.

Is it worth the cost?Â
For those lucky enough to attend, The Masters remains a bucket-list sporting experience.Â
Walking the pristine fairways of Augusta National and witnessing golfing history unfold is something few events can match.
With Rory McIlroy returning to defend his green jacket after completing the career grand slam, and Scottie Scheffler arriving as a dominant world number one chasing a third Masters title in five years, the 2026 edition promises to be unmissable.

Add contenders like Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele and Tommy Fleetwood into the mix, and the appeal is obvious.
But with accommodation alone potentially costing several thousand dollars, attending The Masters is as much a financial commitment as it is a sporting pilgrimage.
The Masters
The bottom line
The data confirms what many golf fans already suspect: there is no more expensive week to stay in Augusta than Masters week.
