An Ottawa man is facing a slew of sexual offences following an investigation into child sexual assault and exploitation in the Ottawa area.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say it received information on Mar. 21 that a child may have been lured over the internet for sexual purposes.
Police opened an investigation and have now charged 23-year-old Omer Yildirim with a list of charges.
Those charges include:
Two counts of sexual assault causing bodily harm – choking, suffocating or strangling;
Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication;
Three counts of invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age;
Two counts of sexual interference;
Possession of child abuse and exploitation material; and
Making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age.
Yildirim remains in custody.
