The WBC joins in mourning the passing of Hernán Santos Nicolini

​The World Boxing Council (WBC) and its President, Mauricio Sulaimán, deeply regret the sensitive passing of Hernán Santos Nicolini, one of the most respected and emblematic figures of Argentine and international boxing.

​Santos Nicolini was much more than a sports reference; he was a pillar of integrity and passion who dedicated his life to exalting the sport of boxing. His human quality and commitment left an indelible mark on every person who had the privilege of sharing a path with him.

​The President of the WBC expressed his feelings regarding this irreparable loss:
​”It has brought me such great sadness to learn of the death of Hernán Santos Nicolini, one of the great personalities of Argentine and world boxing, and a wonderful person. May God keep him in His holy glory. Boxing is in mourning.”
