White Rock Yuk Yuk’s celebrates franchise anniversary

In celebration of Yuk Yuk’s 50th anniversary, Yuk Yuk’s Media returns to White Rock with another edition of the White Rock Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Spectacle on Saturday, April 4, featuring two back-to-back shows at 7 and 9:15 p.m at the Oceana PARC Playhouse (1532 Johnston Rd.).

The event will feature two distinct shows in one night, each with its own headliner. International touring comedian Byron Bertram will headline the early show, while fast-rising B.C. standout Katrina Bennett will close out the evening with the late show.

Bertram, known for his high-energy performances, sharp impressions, and global perspective, continues to build momentum on the international stage.

One of Canada’s most recognizable comedic exports, his recent debut special Live from the Biltmore has amassed millions of views online. Other credits include Britain’s Got Talent, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Bennett, known for what Yuk Yuk’s media release terms “fearless honesty and physical, in-your-face delivery” is becoming one of the most formidable live performers on the B.C. comedy scene. Fresh off standout performances at Yuk Yuk’s Surrey – including a headlining set for International Women’s Day – Bennett brings a raw, unfiltered style to the stage that makes hers a must-see act.

“We’ve always loved bringing comedy to White Rock, but there’s something extra special about doing it during Yuk Yuk’s 50th anniversary year,” Eric Y. Lapointe, Yuk Yuk’s media producer, said.

“Byron is a proven international headliner, and Katrina is one of the most underrated killers in B.C. right now. Pairing them on the same night with their supporting lineup gives audiences two completely different, but equally strong, headlining experiences.”

Also on the bills are host Justin Nichol, opening acts David Milchard and Cass Furman, and guest comedian James Trotter.
