Vanier College quarterback Nico Brown has committed to Wilfrid Laurier University.
“We are very excited to add Nico to our family. He is seeking quarterback development and with our track record he was very excited about the decision to come,” Golden Hawks head coach Todd Galloway told 3DownNation.
“With his frame, arm, talent, and athleticism he’ll be a great addition to our quarterbacks and locker room.”
Brown started eight games for the Cheetahs during the 2025 CEGEP Division 1 regular season. He completed 94-of-190 passes for 1,194 yards with six touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Ottawa native rushed 31 times for 230 yards, 7.4 per carry. Vanier finished 1-7 and missed the postseason.
In his first CEGEP year in 2024, Brown completed 37-of-74 passes for 583 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, while seeing action in four regular season games, including three starts. He rushed eight times for 52 yards, 6.5 per carry. The six-foot-two, 190-pound QB led the Cheetahs to a quarterfinal win in the playoffs.
Brown attended the same CEGEP school as 2026 Canadian Football League Draft prospect, McGill University student-athlete Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald.
The 19-year-old has CFL bloodlines, he’s Eddie Brown’s son. His father played 13 seasons in the three-down league. He won a Grey Cup with the Edmonton Eskimos in 1993, earned one CFL all-star award and two West Division all-star nods in his professional career.
