The Youngstown State men’s tennis team closed out non-league play with a 7-0 win over Chicago State on Saturday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Penguins improve to 13-4 overall with the win. YSU’s final three remaining contests are all Horizon League matches.
In doubles, YSU picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2. At No. 1, Dominik Vonbank and Matteo Ceradelli won 6-4 while at No. 2, Mihai Haita and Oscar Gippet cruised to a 6-1 victory.
In singles, the Cougars defaulted at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
At No. 1, Rafael Le Fur collected a 6-4, 7-5 win. At No. 2, Gippet remained unbeaten with a 6-1, 7-6 (5) victory. At No. 3, Haita picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory. At No. 4, Alex Woiten collected a 6-1, 6-2 triumph.
Youngstown State returns to action next Saturday when it takes on IU Indy at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
