Chicago Sky star forward Angel Reese has had a phenomenal start to her career in the WNBA. In 64 games across her first two seasons, Reese has scored 14.1 points per contest to go along with 12.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals.
The native of Randallstown, Maryland, was taken with the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Sky after spending her collegiate career with the Maryland Terrapins and LSU Tigers.

Reese was selected to the All-Star game in each of her first two seasons and won the rebound title in both years, averaging 13.1 and 12.6 rebounds per contest, respectively.

During the 2025 season, Reese had another good year, although Chicago struggled. The Sky finished with a record of 10-34, which was tied for the worst in the WNBA. The 23-year-old put up 14.7 points, 12.6 boards, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.
Before Reese’s third season with Chicago, the WNBA Players’ Association and the league have agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement. This new CBA includes a pay raise for many of the top players in the league.

With this new CBA, Reese is expected to get a huge increase in salary along with other stars, as broken down by Spotrac.

This salary for Reese caught the attention of many WNBA fans on social media.

“Angel making less than Cam and Sonia is crazy work 😵💫,” said one fan.
“Reese deserves more money,” wrote another.
At this number for her salary, Reese is listed as the 16th-highest paid player in the WNBA, per Spotrac. She is also the second-highest paid player on the Sky, behind only center Kamilla Cardoso ($461k).
“i fear i will never fully get over her pick number especially now it’s no longer just a couple thousand difference 😭,” the comments continued.

Reese and Chicago will begin the 2026 WNBA preseason on April 25 against the Phoenix Mercury.
