Polarizing combat sports stars Darren Till and Dillon Danis went at it on social media ahead of Misfits 22.

Former UFC title challenger Darren Till and former Bellator fighter Dillon Danis will share a card together at Misfits Boxing 22 later this month in Manchester. Till faces former UFC champion Luke Rockhold in a boxing main event, while Danis will make his MMA return against Warren Spencer on the undercard.

Till and Danis are similar in some ways in their approaches to combat sports. Both are divisive figures in MMA circles, and both are pursuing new ventures after falling short of their goals in the cage.

But that’s where the similarities end, as Till and Danis share a lot of animosity towards each other ahead of Misfits 22.

Social media theatrics began when, in a recent post to X, Danis gave a less-than-flattering review of Till’s prep for fight night.

“You need to be training technique, etc.,” Danis said.

“You’re not doing a ski competition. This was your downfall in the UFC, jeez man.”

Hours after Danis’s taunts, Till went scorched Earth in a heated response.

“You wouldn’t know a downfall in the UFC cos you couldn’t make it there. #BellatorBum #SuicideWatchSinceLoganBeatYouUp [LAUGHS],” Till replied.

After Till took a deep shot at Danis, including mocking him over recent comments about his loss to Logan Paul, Danis didn’t hold back.

“Because unlike you, winning means everything to me,” Danis said. “You don’t care if you win or lose, you give up at the first of adversity, that’s why you’re a journeyman. We’re cut from different cloth.”

Till closed the back-and-forth by mocking one of Danis’s several controversies outside of fighting.

“UFC – the cloth I was in. Bellator – you’re cloth,” Till said. “Definitely different cloths. If winning meant everything to you, you wouldn’t have let Anthony Taylor one bomb you and laugh straight after it Dillon…”

Till defeated Anthony Taylor, a longtime foe of Danis’, via sixth-round knockout at Misfits 20 earlier this year. Danis and Taylor got into it during a parking lot brawl after Danis confronted KSI at a Misfits media day appearance.

Danis returns to combat sports after losing to Paul by disqualification in their 2023 showdown. Before parting ways with Bellator, he went 2-0 in the promotion.

Till’s upcoming opponent nearly accepted a fight against an undefeated boxing champion before accepting the offer to fight at Misfits 22.

Luke Rockhold turned down unbeaten boxing champ before taking Darren Till fight

According to Rockhold, he was offered a fight on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson undercard last year against Viddal Riley, one of KSI’s closest allies. Riley is a British cruiserweight world champion after winning the belt on the Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn undercard.

Rockhold said he turned down the fight because he wasn’t in good enough shape to accept the challenge for his pro boxing debut. The upcoming fight with Till will be Rockhold’s first appearance in the ring.

Rockhold fought bare-knuckle against Mike Perry in Bare Knuckle FC, losing by TKO. He parted ways with the UFC following a unanimous decision defeat to Paulo Costa at UFC 278.
