Food Truck Wars returns to Cloverdale Fairgrounds April 10-12

Food Truck Wars is back this weekend at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.

Running Friday to Sunday (April 10-12), this year the War on Wheels will feature more than 35 food trucks, dozens of vendors, live entertainment, and a kids zone.

The mini donut eating contest returns this year (April 10 at 6 p.m.) as does the hot dog eating contest (April 11 at 3 p.m.).

Organizers bill the event at “Surrey’s biggest street food showdown.” Festival-goers can taste fare from dozens of food trucks.

“Catch a wide variety of Greater Vancouver’s most exciting local food trucks all in one place,” organizers note.

The 5th annual event will pit B.C.’s best food trucks in a battle for trophies and bragging rights.

Visitors will get to vote for their favourite food using a QR code poll linked around the fesatival site.

After votes are tallied all weekend, the Poepel Chocie Award winnner will be announced on Sunday at about 3 p.m. Organziers will also hans out awards in severla other categoresi: the coveted People’s Choice Winner!

Organizers will also hand out awards for 2026 in the following categories: Meat Sweats, Best International/Fusion, Best Between Buns, Best Classic, Sweetest Treat, Best In Show, Best Plant Based, and Best Creative Dish.

The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival challenges “competitive eaters” to be part of its first Street Dogs Hot Dog Eating Contest. The contest “brings a fun, competitive element that showcases the passion our region has for food in a whole new way,” said Jason Faria, festival owner.

The contest, to take place on the main stage, will be about speed and not pace, as hot dog eaters will try to down as many dogs as possible in a set time limit.

The festival is a three-day event featuring more than 35 food trucks, a large artisan marketplace with local vendors, live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a beer garden featuring local craft breweries.

Food Truck Wars will take place outside the Agriplex on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, 6050 176th Street. Hours are: Friday from 3 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Advanced tickets are available by donation, with partial proceeds being given to the organization’s 2026 charity partner.
