If you’re still looking for tickets to the FIFA World Cup when it visits Vancouver, I have bad news.

Tickets appear completely sold out for all seven matches scheduled at BC Place. FIFA has set up its own resale site, but the prices are presently out of control.

Most of the seats are selling for well over $1,000. There’s even someone trying to resell tickets for $69,000 to the first match at BC Place, between Australia and Türkiye on June 13 (good luck, whoever you are).

You want how much?! (FIFA)

We did find a scattering of tickets available for cheaper, but none under $500.

Ticket prices will fluctuate, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them drop on the resale market as we get closer to the beginning of the tournament. There are also third-party resale sites like StubHub that are offering tickets for sale.

The ticket lottery process has run its course, with FIFA now offering “last-minute sales” to matches on a first-come, first-served basis. All but eight matches tournament-wide appear to be sold out.

One of the matches that hasn’t sold out is Canada’s opening match in Toronto against Bosnia and Herzegovina, not Italy as expected. Ticket prices are inflated for that game due to it being the host nation’s opening match, meaning that prices are significantly more expensive than any of the matches offered in Vancouver.

Vancouver is hosting seven FIFA World Cup matches, including five in the group stage and two in the knockout round.

June 13: Australia vs. Türkiye
June 18: Canada vs Qatar
June 21: New Zealand vs Egypt
June 24: Switzerland vs Canada
June 26: New Zealand vs Belgium
July 2: Round of 32
July 7: Round of 16

The Round of 32 match will feature the winner of Group B, which is Canada’s group, that also features Switzerland, Qatar, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The winner of Vancouver’s Round of 32 match on July 2 will remain in town to play in the Round of 16 at BC Place on July 7.

If Portugal wins Group K and its first knockout round match, we could see Ronaldo and company take to the pitch at BC Place in the Round of 16.

Should be fun to see.
