Death in Surrey park not suspicious: police

A body found in a Fleetwood-area park is not considered suspicious, Surrey Police said.
Surrey residents had reported seeing numerous police vehicles in Walnut Park, in the area of 162A Street and 80 Avenue, near Walnut Road Elementary School on Wednesday (April 8).
A reporter on scene confirmed at least five Surrey RCMP cars, a forensic identification unit van and crime scene tape in the park. Police at the site would not comment on what had happened.
People in the park said a trail through a forested section has been closed all morning.
Surrey Police media relations officer Staff Sgt. Lindsay Houghton confirmed that authorities are investigating a death at the scene, which is not being treated as suspicious.
