Article contentBILLIONS LOST IN SPACE
While I wish the astronauts on the Artemis II mission a safe return, I wish even more for the countries involved to stop spending billions on space adventures that mean very little to the majority of people on this planet.

We’ve already damaged Earth very badly, so we have absolutely no right to ruin outer space. A quick search will tell you how much “space junk” pollution is out there already.
Instead, we should spend those billions of dollars here on Earth on things that will last generations longer than a 10-day space trip. A short list includes affordable housing, medical research, food security, mental health and addiction facilities, mosquito nets, clean drinking water, seniors care, etc.
Stop spending billions outside the boundaries of Earth and use these billions where they can do the most good. It certainly isn’t studying the far side of the moon.

DISASTER COMING DOWN THE LINE
The Liberals’ deceptive proposed idea for high-speed rail is mind-boggling. They cite a $90-billion cost and years of construction. I can guarantee that those costs would balloon and that it would be saddled with delays.
You should look up the disastrous high-speed rail project in California to see what can happen when governments mismanage large-scale transportation projects. Same goes for Toronto transit.

This is one of the Liberals’ priorities paid for by taxpayers? Who would benefit? Guess who.

FORD NO DIFFERENT
Many Ontarians thought they were replacing the high-spending McGuinty-Wynne governments with a real Conservative. In Premier Doug Ford, nothing could be further from the truth, with this year’s projected deficit $13.8 billion and the provincial debt hitting $485 billion in 2026-27.
The auto industry is on life support with thousands of job losses, and we have provincial health care and housing crises with nothing being done.
Ford recently came out supporting a Mark Carney majority government. That is sure to lose Ford even his Conservative base. So it’s no wonder Liberals are gaining support, even without an effective leader.
