Brampton residents are being invited to a pair of phone-in town hall meetings to hear updates, share feedback and ask questions about community safety and health care initiatives in the city.
The city says it has connected with some 154,000 participants through telephone town halls over the last five years, with two more coming this month.
The first of two telephone town hall meetings coming in April will focus on local safety, and will give residents a chance to connect with Mayor Patrick Brown, members of Council and Peel Regional Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah “to provide updates on key community safety initiatives, discuss current priorities and answer questions directly from residents.”
The community safety phone-in meeting will run on April 14 at 7 p.m.
The second session will focus on health care in Brampton, providing updates on efforts to expand local health services. Representatives from the city will be joined by Dr. Mohamed Lachemi, President and Vice-Chancellor of Toronto Metropolitan University and Dr. Frank Martino, President and Chief Executive Officer of William Osler Health System.
The health care phone-in meeting will run on April 30 at 7 p.m.
“During the telephone town halls, residents will have the opportunity to participate in live poll questions and take part in a question-and-answer segment,” the city says.
Residents can also send in questions ahead of time.
