Meet The Drivers
Shane van Gisbergen
The favorite to win the race, according to sports betting website DraftKings, is really a force to be reckoned with.
If you haven’t kept up with what van Gisbergen has done so far in the Cup Series, he’s won three races so far: the Viva México 250, Grant Park 165 and the Toyota/Save Mart 350. The most recent win came off a winning time of 2:54:55.
The 36-year old van Gisbergen has finished 42nd and 45th in the last two Cup Series seasons, but he’s ranked 25th. This shows his progression in the competitive race environment.
Christopher Bell
While not the favorite to win the race, there’s no counting out Bell.
He enters the race having won four prior races in this Cup Series season: Ambetter Health 400, EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, Shriners Children’s 500 and the NASCAR All-Star Race.
Dating back to 2022, Bell slowly started drifting one spot below his finishing results by the year. He finished third in the standings in 2022, then fourth in 2023, and fifth in 2024.
Yet with the tear he’s been on, it’s hard to think he would continue that trend and not break out on top.
Tyler Reddick
Remember when Reddick set that NASCAR record at Daytona for the closest finish in NASCAR Xfinity Series history? That was back in 2018, when he defeated Elliott Sadler by a margin of 0.0004 seconds.
That’s the kind of magic Reddick can make when it counts.
And having finished in the top 10 in the last two years, it’s time for Reddick to make his run to the top.
Chase Elliott
Despite only two race victories to his name, Elliott knows he’s in a good spot with a current second place ranking, per NASCAR’s official website.
Having not won the Cup Series since 2020, this year he knows he has a good chance, but is chasing that one ghost in front of him.
William Byron
Elliott’s ghost? The one and only William Byron.
He’s finished third in the Cup Series in back to back years, and is looking to cut that trend and avoid a third year of deja vu.
Byron leads all drivers in points (770) with 12 top-10 finishes to his name so far.
The title is his to lose.
