The Mariners won 4-0 as the team is now 1-2 on the season.
“(The) defensive unit did a nice job of containing and slowing down their attack,” head coach Kathy Smith said. “Midfield did well with transition play and connecting more passes and up top we were active and moving off the ball.”
Emily Marquardt and Payton Johnson each scored in the first half, with both assists coming from Alayna Edmondson, before Lindsey Gardner scored twice in the second half to seal the victory.
Campbell had 10 saves in the shutout win.
“(We had) better communication overall on the pitch today,” Smith said.
The Mariners will open conference play at 4 p.m. April 15, hosting Muskegon Orchard View.
