Police are investigating after a tow truck was destroyed by fire early Friday morning in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police told INsauga.com the fire erupted a few minutes after 4:30 a.m. in the Eglinton Avenue East and Dixie Road area. They didn’t say where, specifically, the tow truck was located when it became engulfed in flames.
No injuries were reported.
Police said it’s unknown at this time if the fire is deemed “suspicious.” The investigation continues.
The incident is the latest in a series of tow truck fires in Peel and elsewhere in the Greater Toronto Area.
On Feb. 26, also in the overnight hours, a tow truck loaded with an excavator was set on fire in Burlington. That incident was determined to be arson.
