Journey back 150 million years, when velociraptors and T. rexes hunted down their prey and pterodactyls ruled the sky at Sandbox VR’s new experience, Age of Dinosaurs.
The mix of dinosaurs, discovery and danger was created in partnership with the Natural History Museum of London and leading dinosaur experts. The virtual experience is family-friendly and recommended for everyone 8 and older.
“You’ll journey 150 million years back in time to walk among living, breathing dinosaurs in environments so real you’ll swear you’re there,” said Sammy Jerrard of Sandbox VR.
Visitors will team up with a virtual “future guide” named Aluna and her robot dog, and they’ll get to search for clues, feed hungry stegosauruses, race to rescue T. rex hatchlings, soar through the skies on flying reptiles, feel the footsteps of a large brachiosaurus, plus more immersive dinosaur fun.
Guests who are interested in this experience should arrive 10 to 15 minutes before booking time to check in. Then participants will get 10 minutes to gear up and complete the virtual tutorial. After finishing the tutorial, guests will have about 30 minutes of gameplay. Players will then have 10 minutes to de-gear and relive the experience through cinematic video highlights.
“This scientifically accurate adventure is perfect for explorers, families and anyone who’s ever dreamed of walking among dinosaurs,” Jerrard said.
Open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, Suite 110, Dallas. Tickets range from $50-57 per person, depending on the day.
