Steven Kruijswijk, Menno Huising, and Tijmen Graat made their mark from the early breakaway in the opening phase of the penultimate stage of the Itzulia Basque Country. However, in the finale, the riders of Team Visma | Lease a Bike were unable to play a leading role. The stage win went to classification leader Paul Seixas.
