The Indian National League has filed a police complaint seeking the arrest of actor-politician Vijay, alleging that promotional visuals for his film Jana Nayagan insult and negatively misrepresent the Muslim community.

Chennai: The Indian National League (INL) has lodged a formal complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner, seeking the arrest of actor-politician Vijay and members of his party, Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). The complaint, filed on April 10, 2026, accuses the actor of promoting communal disharmony through promotional content for his upcoming film, ‘Jana Nayagan’.
INL leader Tada Rahim alleged that the film’s promotional visuals depict the Muslim community negatively. Specifically, the party claims the visuals falsely associate the community with extremist acts, such as planting bombs.
The INL has demanded immediate police intervention, asserting that such portrayals are insulting and harmful to social cohesion.
