Tatiana Suarez was back to her dominant ways earlier tonight (Sat., April 11, 2026) at UFC 327 LIVE on CBS/Paramount+ from inside Kaseya Center in Miami, Fla., as the former women’s strawweight title challenger became the first fighter to finish Loopy Godinez, doing so via second-round submission (rear-naked choke).
Suarez was once considered the future of the women’s strawweight division, but after losing to Zhang Weili back at UFC 312 she needed to go back to the drawing board. Scoring a decision win over Amanda Lemos her last time out was certainly a good start, though it wasn’t as memorable as her previous victories inside of the Octagon. It was up to Suarez to find a finish on Saturday night and put her name back in the mix for a 115-pound title shot.
Despite an early knockdown scare by Godinez, this fight was all about Suarez’s elite wrestling attack and top game. She doesn’t land the biggest ground-and-pound, but Suarez was dictating the pace of the fight and where it was taking place. The second round offered similar action before Suarez was able to parlay a takedown into back control and then an eventual rear-naked choke. It was a pretty dominant stoppage and the first time Godinez has ever been finished.
