A man is missing in Brampton following a boating incident on Saturday, said Peel police.
First responders attended reports of a capsized canoe with a man and woman in distress at the Heart Lake Conservation area around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, said Tyler Bell-Morena with Peel Regional Police.
He said Brampton Fire rescued an adult woman and continue to search for the man, but no one else was found.
Peel paramedics said they were called to the scene for an individual struggling to swim. They transported a woman to local hospital for further treatment.
Bell-Morena said police are still at the scene for underwater search and rescue efforts.
Police urge nearby residents to avoid the area.
