Peel Regional Police are conducting an underwater search at a lake in Brampton after a canoe capsized, leaving one boater missing.
According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by user Graham Paine, Peel police’s marine dive unit is searching for a missing male at Heart Lake Conservation Area who is believed to have been in the canoe when it overturned Saturday night. Investigators have not released additional details about the missing person, including his age.
A woman was rescued from the water and taken to a hospital for treatment related to cold water exposure. Updates on her condition are unknown.
