TORONTO: The 2026 CFL Global Draft is set for Wednesday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m. ET, immediately following the National Draft. The Ottawa Redblacks hold the first overall pick in this two-round, 18-selection event.
Teams will add non-North American talent who do not count against the Canadian ratio — perfect for immediate defensive line rotations, offensive line depth, or high-upside athletes. The 2026 CFL Combine in Edmonton (late March) clearly identified the top tier:
Wilfried Pene, Chinazo Obobi, Arthur Kingdom, Frank Mulipola, and Jack Low.

Wilfried Pene (DL, Virginia Tech, France)
The consensus No. 1 prospect. A 6’2″, 283-lb athletic defensive lineman with NFL experience (New England Patriots, 2025). Originally from Tours, France.
2024 Virginia Tech: 33 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 3.5 sacks.
Career: 73 tackles, 9 TFL, 5 sacks.
Combine: 29 bench reps, 30″ vertical.
Chinazo Obobi (OL, Munich Ravens – ELF, United Kingdom)
A massive 6’4⅛”, 318-lb guard with pro ELF experience. Signed by the 11-1 Munich Ravens in 2025.
Combine: 5.56 forty, 19.5″ vertical.
Pure size-and-power profile.
Arthur Kingdom (LB, Prague Lions – ELF, United Kingdom)
2025 ELF Defensive Rookie of the Year. A 6’3″, 227-lb linebacker with elite instincts and range.

High-floor special teams contributor.
Frank Mulipola (DL, Arkansas / ex-UTPB, American Samoa)
A 6’3½”, 279-lb defensive lineman who transferred from D-II UTPB to the SEC.

The top five prospects are strong locks early, but the back half of Round 1 often brings surprises with specialized globals or developmental stashes. This 2026 class is particularly deep in athletic trench talent.
