NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is auctioning a rare 1957 Ford Thunderbird owned by him and his wife, Samantha Busch. Partial proceeds of the sale by Barrett-Jackson will go toward supporting The Bundle of Joy Fund, an organization that grants monetary benefits to couples who require fertility treatments to conceive.

Busch shared the details of the ‘Dusk Rose’ Ford Thunderbird convertible that Samantha and he owned for 12 years. The car underwent a professional frame-off restoration, meaning it received a rebuilt engine, a new paint job, a new interior, and new chrome highlights.

Since the major restoration project, the classic has only been driven for 1,100 miles. What adds to the value of this Thunderbird is that it was “driven to the CTCI Regional Convention in San Jose” in August 2013, where it was handed the “Golden Award” in “Concours Judging and was elevated to Senior Status.”

The car was an important part of the NASCAR legend’s garage and has been involved in some of the Busch family’s memorable moments, including the birth of their children, Brexton and Lennix.

This Thunderbird came with power steering, Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels, and wide whitewall tires. Power comes from a 312-ci V8 engine that produces 240 hp and is mated to an automatic transmission. Revealing the news of the Thunderbird auction, Kyle Busch wrote on X:

This is an award winning car that’s been completely restored. It’s selling No Reserve! Excited about being at Barrett-Jackson West Palm Beach to see it sold Friday.  A portion of the sale goes to support the work of the @bundleofjoyfund!”
