GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Men’s Tennis team travels to Texas A&M for the SEC Tournament. After earning the ninth seed in the tournament, the Gators have a first round bye and will then play on Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. EST against eighth seeded Auburn.

In the regular season, the Gators opened up SEC play against Auburn on the road, but took a 6-1 loss from the Tigers. Since then, both Florida and Auburn hold the same conference record of 6-8, with the Tigers just edging the No. 19 Gators out in rankings to make them the higher seed in the tournament

Four players enter the tournament ranked in singles with Pablo Perez Ramos at No. 62, Henry Jefferson at No. 63, Adhithya Ganesan at No. 95 and Jeremy Jin at No. 102. In doubles, Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn maintained their No. 9 ranking after a ranked win in Arkansas.

Recapping the Weekend

The Gators split the road weekend against No. 1 Texas and No. 36 Arkansas, resulting in a conference record of 6-8. Jefferson and Nirundorn defeated the No. 31 team of Ben Weintraub and Eric Padgham of Arkansas and five players all earned a win in singles over the weekend.
