A funnel cloud was spotted just 30 minutes east of Winnipeg on Wednesday evening.
According to the Weather Centre of Manitoba and eyewitnesses, a funnel cloud poked through some storm clouds on April 15.
At roughly 7:30 p.m., an eyewitness took a photo of a funnel cloud near Anola, MB.
According to weather experts, seeing a funnel cloud or tornado in April is extremely rare.
The last documented tornado in April in Manitoba was seen near Altona in 1980.
Environment Canada has a special weather statement out as the temperature will be dropping 23 degrees within 12 hours from Wednesday afternoons high of 18 degrees to a low of minus five by Thursday early morning. The system could bring freezing rain and snow to southern Manitoba from early Thursday through to Friday afternoon.
