There’s a new update on the playoff schedule for the Montreal Canadiens vs. Tampa Bay Lightning series.

And it doesn’t appear to be getting any more favorable

First, it’s worth noting that the NHL regular season wraps up tonight, meaning that as of tomorrow, it will officially be over for all teams that did not qualify for the playoffs.

After that, there will be a day off for everyone on Friday, before the playoffs officially begin on Saturday.

Indeed, the Lightning’s arena is booked on April 18.

While a lot of information had already been circulating regarding the schedule for the first two games of the series, we now have something new to share!

Respected insider Jimmy Murphy went a step further today, putting forward the rumoured schedule for the first four (4) games of the series between Montreal and Tampa Bay.

Rumored Canadiens-Lightning schedule sets Centre Bell games for Friday and Sunday with unusual timing

This finally gives us an answer regarding the much-discussed first two games to be played at the Centre Bell (Games #3 and #4)!

Sunday: Game 1 in Tampa Bay (likely in the afternoon)

Tuesday: Game 2 in Tampa Bay

Friday: Game 3 in Montreal

Sunday: Game 4 in Montreal

Two Sunday games, one afternoon start, and a staggered sequence. It’s a very unusual schedule and clearly not one that everyone agrees with.
