A preschool-age child has died after a fall in downtown Winnipeg on Wednesday afternoon, police say.
Just after 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were called with a report of a fall involving a preschool-age child in the 400 block of Kennedy Street, between Qu’Appelle and Cumberland avenues, the Winnipeg Police Service said in an email to CBC News.
The child was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died, police said.
