Jenelle Evans is offering an update on her son, Jace, who checked into a mental health facility last month after he pulled a gun on his grandmother.

“A lot of people think that because I’m being so quiet that I might now be doing anything and not taking action,” she said on the “La Femme Talk” podcast, “but just know that if I’m quiet, I’m up to something.”

She continued, telling host Dr. Rachel Mason, “I’ll let you know something that I haven’t told anyone. I’ve been very quiet online but behind the scenes I’ve been actually getting help for my son and he’s in a safe place [with] a holistical[sic] approach and he’s very happy right now.”

Evans added, “He’s very focused on himself and I think that’s the most important thing.”

The “Teen Mom” star had been quiet when the news broke about her son, surprising fans and drawing criticism.

She addressed the issue in a TikTok on March 28, saying, “Behind the scenes, I’m doing everything I can for my child, and I’m doing what’s in the best interest for him and that’s none of your business to know.”

In February, Jace allegedly threatened to kill himself and his grandmother, Barbara Evans, and put a gun to his own head. Officers responded to a “troubled teen disturbance” after Barbara called 911 from her home in North Carolina.

Evans currently lives in Las Vegas, according to her rep, and is a full-time mom to her children Kaiser, 11, with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffith and Ensley, 9, from her ex-husband David Eason.

Jace is her oldest from her relationship with high school boyfriend Andrew Lewis.

A representative confirmed to Entertainment Weekly on March 11 that Evans was in a facility and that Evans was “still trying to find him the best [facility] to meet his needs.”
