Shane van Gisbergen won his fourth consecutive NASCAR road course race at Watkins Glen.This victory marks van Gisbergen’s fourth win of his rookie season, a NASCAR record.
Shane Van Gisbergen continued his domination on road coarses by winning the NASCAR Watkins Glen race on Aug. 10. It was his fourth consecutive road course win.
He also became the first rookie to win four races.
Van Gisbergen, in the No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet, also won at Sonoma and Chicago in July and at Mexico City in June.
The last driver to win four straight road course races was Chase Elliott in 2020. The most consecutive road course race wins was six by Jeff Gordon from1997 and 2000.
Van Gisberger, who led for 38 laps, finished second in 2024 in a thrilling finish at Watkins Glen International after being passed by Chris Buescher on the final lap of overtime.
Christopher Bell finished second, Buescher was third, William Byron, was fourth and Chase Briscoe was fifth.
Ryan Blaney, who led 35 laps, was sixth.
