Cade Cunningham’s return to the Pistons lineup has sparked excitement, and Ford came out with a new video recognizing his comeback and the hard-working history of his family.
As the Detroit Pistons return to the NBA playoffs, the video titled Born to Build traces Cunningham’s journey from a Ford-driving household to becoming the face of the Pistons’ next era.
Directed by Detroit native Jared Malik Royal and narrated by Cunningham himself, “the film draws a clear parallel between how Cade was raised and how Detroit builds—through persistence, pride, and leading by example,” according to a release from the automaker.
“Ford has strong values and that’s exactly what I was raised on,” Cunningham said. “I watched my pops work hard every day and that mindset was instilled on the whole family. I’ve carried his never-quit mentality ever since.”

Cunningham is set to arrive at Game 1 wearing a custom jacket designed by Ford, and fans who attend the game will receive limited-edition T-shirts, according to Ford.
